The majority of our clients go through a ‘See It B4U Build It’ stage where we prepare detailed documentation of the project. These documents are like the plans for a house and contain all the information we’ll need to bring your app to life.
You can take the first step by simply sketching your app ideas or writing down the functions your app will need. This information is incredibly helpful in the initial stages. The more understanding we have of your app the more accurate we can be with estimating the time and budget you’ll need to complete it. Once understanding is clear, we develop, test and publish the app with your ongoing involvement.
Our process is agile and flexible. We are happy to build your app from scratch or complement your existing skills in app development. Some of our clients have capabilities with graphic design, wireframing, UX, UI or even developing, so we sometimes start the process with a ‘gap analysis’ of your project in order to determine what you can provide yourself and what you’ll need from us.
We are able to help our clients holistically or discretely. Anything from app conception to app success. We provide our clients with a large bank of resources to assist them in developing a ‘lean business plan’ and helping ensure all aspects of their app idea are clear before they invest any money into a technical build.
We offer assistance with app feasibility, revenue models, structure and platform analysis, all within our app exploration sessions. Market Validation, Website or Landing Page Development (for your app), Fundraising Strategies and Assistance with Government Grants are also areas where we can advise.
We also provide long term marketing and maintenance options once your app goes live. These are just some of the ways we assist our clients.
For a ballpark quote - We need a document with a list of desired features and/or rough sketches of your app idea.
For a fixed price quote - Most clients who want a fixed price for their app provide one or more of the following before we meet.
1. A list of features or functions of the proposed app.
2. Rough sketches or drawings of what the screens of your app would look like.
3. A written explanation of the problem your app will solve.
4. A “user story” which explains how an individual would use your app.
We use this documentation to compile a list of questions for you which will need answering before any development starts. Once our understanding is clear we will provide you with documentation and wire frames of the app. Once your ideas and our interpretation match up, we can give you a fixed quote.
Please do! We are proud to share with you that Appomate generates the majority of its business via client referrals. Over 70% to be exact.
There’s nothing more powerful than word of mouth and we are more than happy to introduce you to some of our valued clients for a behind the scenes look at working with us.
Some developers are restricted to what they can build because they use the same “back end” for every app they design. We build all of our apps from scratch to ensure your specific requirements are met and your app is scalable for future growth...and awesomeness!
When building native apps we develop on:
Swift for iOS
Java for Android
.NET for Microsoft
We also have experienced developers who can develop cross-platform apps on Xamarin or Phone Gap. This helps reduce the price to build certain app types.
We generally use Node.js and .NET Framework to custom build an app’s core engine (back end).
To store data a variety of platforms could be used by our team, those include NoSQL, Couchbase, Couchbase Lite, PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQLite to cater for any app requirement (this includes high level encryption).
If a WEB CMS or a responsive web app is required for a project we generally use HTML5, CSS3, Ruby on Rails, AngularJS/ReactJS, JavaScript or jQuery.
It’s quite a catalog of experience but having these skillsets is what allows use to be agile and able to deliver custom built apps no matter what your requirements are.
We love people. All kinds. This means we have a varied client base. We have developed apps for many self-funding entrepreneurs who invest their savings to build apps. We also have ongoing relationships with enterprise brands like Adidas, L’oreal, Lend Lease and Hoyts.
For us, it’s more about mindset than company size. We like working with clients who are open, smart, prepared and fun. App development is a partnership, so it makes sense to work with people who understand each other.
There is no limit to the type of apps we can build. That’s the fun part. If you can imagine an app idea, we can build it. We build apps for both mobile and web and are constantly embracing emerging technologies to ensure we use best practice within the industry.
We have a very strong expertise and experience in the internet of things and API integration. Many of our apps include a connection to external systems like your ERP, accounting systems, inventory systems or Bluetooth devices like sensors and beacons.
An average time for building an app is 3 - 6 months from start to finish.
Of course we have done some quick prototype apps in just under 4 weeks. Alternatively we’ve spent over 2 years building and adding features to a number of large enterprise level apps.
Start a conversation with us so we can learn more about your app and give you a clear idea of time requirements.
Great question! We often hear clients say they get the best value for money working with us. Why?
We make sure you spend your budget on what’s important and necessary instead of all the “fluff”. Building an app is a lot like building a house: You need a team of multi-skilled people to work from clear documentation in order to complete it on time and on vision.
We think a smart move for you is to first invest in things you’ll need to build an app ie. app documentation, feasibility research, logo and screen designs, etc. Not spending it on workshops or building an app that has no market.
With our combination of Australian and Indian teams, we are also very efficient in managing our costs and passing on the savings to our clients.
